Writing Experiment

Hi,

Some of you might be interested in a new site I was involved in setting up

www.portrayl.com

It's basically a writing site where writers can post and showcase their works with a cool little twist: other people can add onto the stories creating new stories going in a different direction. So it's a bit of an experiement in collaborative writing as well, to see where users will take each others stories.

The site is completely for writers (I do try my best, and have also posted some chapters on the site as nshah, but I'm no writer), so if you have and suggestions for the site or if there is anything you would like to see on the site, please reply to this post or let us know directly. It's for you, so you should be able to enjoy using it.

Thanks for reading everyone

    An exquisite corpse.

Funny, but when I read your post (again) today I was thinking, Haven't I seen a site like this before? I was going to tell you about it, so I went searching through my bottomless bookmarks (which would be much more bottomless had my Mac not stopped working and I'd been forced by money restraints (Apple really should have a decent payment plan) to buy a shitty Dell), and lo and behold . . . that site was yours.

Oh well, I was hoping to make your day.

I'm always negative, so here's my negative comment for today: What I've found is that exquisite corpses seem to work best with small groups of people who're all artists of whatever genre you're working in and all know how the others think. That's when the technique really works, I think. I really need to look into your site more closely, one of these days, and maybe I'll add something; but there's so much to do, so much . . . .

But I, too, should thank you for letting us know and for setting up the site. The more fiction culture the better! And I've always thought that EVERYBODY, not just "writers", should write. Maybe (hopefully) sites like this help.
